Coronavirus - What makes it so bad?

Key Facts:- 

1. It belongs to virus family that causes diseases which ranges severity from the common cold to SARS.
2. In view of the recent outbreak in China The WHO has declared the same a global health emergency.
3. The virus is called nobel coronavirus dubbed 2019- nCoV.
4. This kind of outbreak is not new, In 2003 outbreak it killed almost 800 people around the world.

What Makes the Virus So Bad?
  
The Coronavirus is described as "insidious" and it spreads rapidly from one person to other through the day to day activity. In just 2 months their nos has increased to 8096 SARS cases which is on record. The unrecorded day may goes higher up to 75000 as per experts views.

What is a Coronavirus?


Coronavirus is named for their crown-like shape. Some of its family transfer easily from one person to other while others do not. The World Health Organization said that new virus emerges periodically around the world and many known categories of it are circulating in animals and still have not infected humans. They also tend to morph and mutate which increases the risk as well.

Comparison with other outbreak.

 This one seems to be milder in terms of severity and fatality rate. With SARS, around 9% of reported cases has died but a similar virus called MERS-CoV, that is spreading since2012, has caused death in 34 % of recorded cases of 2499.
