1. (a) Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf
According to the Pakistan Elections results 2018 announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan on July 29, 2018, Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has emerged as the single largest party in the National Assembly after the Pakistan Elections 2018. The PTI has bagged a total of 116 seats.

2. (a) India
The Union Cabinet of India has approved a bill provisioning death penalty or life imprisonment to those involved in piracy at sea. The law is aimed at promoting the safety and security of India's maritime trade including the safety of its crew members.

3. (b) Kerala Government
The Kerala government has told the Supreme Court that the custom of barring the entry of women between the age group of 10 to 50 years into the Sabarimala temple in Kerala is not permissible under the Constitution. The state government said that the celibate status of deity cannot be a ground for barring the entry of women into the Sabarimala temple.

4. (d) Supreme Court
The Supreme Court on July 31, 2018 ruled that the National Register of Citizens (NRC) prepared for State of Assam was only a draft, and hence it cannot be the basis of any action by any authority against anyone. A bench of Justices Ranjan Gogoi and R F Nariman observed that what has been published is only the Complete Draft NRC.

5. (c) China and Malaysia
India has imposed a 25 percent safeguard duty on solar cell imports for a year till July 29, 2019, as the country tries to protect the domestic solar industry. The safeguard duty will not be imposed on imports from developing countries, except China and Malaysia.

The National Viral Hepatitis Control programme was launched by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to combat the disease by 2030 in the country. Under the initiative, free drugs and diagnostics for Hepatitis B and C will be provided at all government hospitals.

The World Hepatitis Day was observed globally on July 28, 2018 with the theme "Test. Treat. Hepatitis". The day aims to scale-up of hepatitis prevention, testing, treatment and care services. Hepatitis is a chronic infection that may not show symptoms for a long period, sometimes even for years or decades.
