Two Kashmiris held for hacking 500 websites

The Special Cell of the Delhi Police have arrested two persons from Punjab claiming that they were “pro-Pakistan and Kashmiri hackers”.
The police said that Shahid Malla, from Baramulla; and Adil Hussain Teli, from Anantnag, had hacked more than 500 Indian websites.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Cyber Cell) Anyesh Roy said that Malla was a second-year BTech student in Punjab’s Rajpura, and Teli was a final-year student of Bachelors in Computer Application in Jalandhar.
The police said that the online activities of the accused were scanned and it was revealed that the duo were part of an “anti-national hacking group called Team Hackers Third Eye, who had hacked more than 500 Indian websites”.
The police alleged that the two were found to be in touch with several Pakistan-based “anti-Indian hackers” some of whom are believed to be backed by Pakistani intelligence agencies.
How to bypass ban
“They were also teaching Kashmiri youth how to bypass State-imposed ban on social media using VPN during April-May in 2017,” the DCP said, adding that online posts by the accused revealed that the duo sympathised with “Kashmiri terrorism and Pakistan”.
The police have recovered laptops, mobile phones, SIM cards, Internet dongles and memory devices from the accused.
The families of the two arrested students expressed ignorance over their wards’ involvement in any subversive activity. “We are in a state of shock since we heard about it,” said Teli’s father Mohammad Yousuf Teli.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Kulgam) Harmeet Singh said that the J-K Police were in touch with the Cyber Cell in New Delhi.
