What did the education minister urge?
The Indian states and UTs were urged by the education minister to share their feedback regarding the education ecosystem with the aim of making futuristic benchmark standards in the form of PM Shri Schools. The next 25 years are very important to establish the country as a knowledge economy showing commitment to global welfare.
What will be the structure of the PM Shri Schools?
The education minister spoke about the 5+3+3+4 approach of the NEP covering pre-school to secondary while stressing on Early Childhood Care and Education Programme (ECCE), teacher training, adult education, integrating skill development with school education, and prioritising learning in one’s mother tongue. These are the measures that are required for training global citizens of the 21st century. Furthermore, it was highlighted that experience and knowledge sharing from all state Education Ministers in a structured manner at the conference would help move towards elevating the country’s learning landscape, in line with the NEP 2020. The PM Shri Schools will also help bolster the education system across the country.
