Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB)

 PNGRB was established under the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Act, 2006. The Act provides for the establishment of a Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board to protect the interests of consumers and entities engaged in specific activities related to petroleum


About Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board
♦ PNGRB was established under the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Act, 2006.
♦ The Act provides for the establishment of a Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board to protect the interests of consumers and entities engaged in specific activities related to petroleum, petroleum products and natural gas, and to promote competitive markets and related matters.
♦ The responsibilities of the Board also include regulating the refining, processing, storage, transportation, distribution, marketing and sales of petroleum, petroleum products and natural gas (excluding the production of crude oil and natural gas) to ensure an uninterrupted and adequate supply of petroleum, petroleum products and natural gas throughout the country.
♦ The Statutory Board is engaged in the registration of entities that sell notified petroleum and petroleum products, establish and operate LNG terminals, etc.
