The Supreme Court (SC) has upheld the Tamil Nadu government warning pronouncing the Singur level locale of Mudumalai Tiger Reserve (MTR) as Elephant Corridor.
Highlights:
♦ The elephant corridor declared now is a part of the eco-sensitive zone of MTR. The SC has likewise requested a 3 part panel to hear cases of land and resort owners.
♦ For the most part, ZMPs are guides to manage the eco-sensitive zones. Consequently, preservationists are requesting to set up a draft ZMP before the SC's 3 part advisory group starts its work.
