AFC chooses India to host the 2022 AFC Womens Asian Cup


Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) Women's Committee has announced that India will host the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup. The tournament was awarded to India with an aim to maximize the promotion of the game. Asian Football Confederation's Women's Committee was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  China, Taiwan, and Uzbekistan were the other competing candidates. 

India as a host:
India has proposed venues namely DY Patil Stadium, Trans Stadia Arena and Fatorda Stadium for the tournament. India was offered to host the tournament as it is committed to developing the women's game. 
India has hosted the AFC U-16 Championships in 2016 and the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017. The Asian Football Confederation's Women's committee also agreed that India will continue raising the standards of the AFC Women's Asian Cup.
