A fierce encounter between Indian security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district on Tuesday saw one Army soldier and four terrorists killed.
The encounter took place during a cordon and search operation being jointly carried out by Army paratroopers, state police, and the CRPF at the Nadigam village around 60km from Srinagar.

"The search operation turned into an encounter after the terrorists fired on the forces, who retaliated," news agency PTI quoted a police official as saying.
