ECI to host 10th Annual Meeting of FEMBoSA at New Delhi

Election Commission of India (ECI) is to host the 10th Annual Meeting of the Forum of the Election Management Bodies of South Asia (FEMBoSA) and an International Conference on Strengthening Institutional Capacity. 

Theme:

The theme of the 10th annual meeting of the forum is Strengthening Institutional Capacity.

Highlights:

♦ There will be three sessions during the Conference focusing on Election Management Bodies and international organizations.

♦ The meeting aims to Strengthen Institutional Capacity of EMBs in various countries. 

♦ The January 2020 issue of ECI's quarterly magazine Voice International will be released during the meeting. It will carry articles on the theme of Innovative Methods of Voter Registration. 

♦ The EBM representatives will share their experiences, best practices, and initiatives in the meeting.

Participants:

Representatives from the Election Management Bodies (EMBs) and International Organisations are expected to participate in the event.

FEMBoSA:

FEMBoSA was initiated at the 3rd Conference of Heads of Election Management Bodies (EMBs) of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Countries held at New Delhi from 30 April to 2 May 2012 through a unanimously adopted resolution on 1 May 2012 to establish the Forum. The Conference unanimously adopted the Charter of the Forum. The FEMBoSA meeting is held by rotation among the members every year. The 9th annual meeting of FEMBoSA was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh in September 2018.
