Studies on Border Area Development Programme

 In 2020, the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) and NITI Aayog conducted two evaluation studies on Border Area Development Programme (BADP).


About the Border Area Development Programme (BADP):
♦ The Border Area Development Program (BADP) has been implemented in 17 States (namely Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal) constituted the International Land Boundary.
♦ The main goal of BADP is to meet the special development needs and well-being of people living in remote and inaccessible areas near the international border, and through the integration of Central/ State/ BADP/ Local schemes and participatory approach, the border areas and the entire basic infrastructure can reach saturation plan.
