Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and Zomato signed a Memorandum of Understanding to join street food vendors on its food technology platform.

Highlights:
♦ Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and Zomato signed a Memorandum of Understanding to join street food vendors on its food technology platform. This will allow street food vendors to access thousands of consumers online and help these vendors develop their businesses.
♦ In October 2020, MoHUA reached a similar agreement with Swiggy, another online food ordering and delivery platform.
♦ MoHUA launched a Mobile Application for PM SVANidhi se Samriddhi.
♦ This mobile application will assist city officials to conduct door-to-door data collection for socio-economic analysis of PM SVANidhi beneficiaries and their families.
♦ This will be done in 125 selected cities as an additional component of PM SVANidhi.
♦ This application will enable ULB field functionaries to conduct socio-economic profile analysis activities even without any Internet connection.
♦ The implementing partner of the Indian Quality Council and MoHUA developed the mobile application.
♦ The purpose of the program is to map the socio-economic profile of PM SVANidhi beneficiaries and their families, assess their potential eligibility to participate in various central welfare schemes, and promote connections with these schemes to promote their overall development and socio-economic development.
