Fastags Becomes Mandatory For All Four Wheel Vehicles From New Year

 Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has notified a warning that FASTags compulsory for every four-wheel vehicle from first January 2021. This will apply to old vehicles just as M and N class of engine vehicles sold before first December, 2017.

Highlights:

♦ According to Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, the FASTag had been made required for all enlistment of new four-wheeled Vehicles since first December 2017. It is being provided by the Vehicle Manufacturer or their sellers. 

♦ For National Permit Vehicles the instalment of FASTag has been commanded since first of 2019 October 

♦ Ministry - a valid FASTag is also compulsory while getting a new third Party Insurance through an amendment in the certificate of Insurance, wherein the details of FASTag ID will be captured.  

♦ This warning would be a significant advance for guaranteeing that the instalment of expenses is 100% at Toll Plazas through the Electronic Means just and that the vehicles go flawlessly through the Fee Plazas.
