Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute Assistive Aids and Devices to Senior Citizens under Rashtriya VayoshriYojana (RVY) and to Divyangjan under ADIP Scheme at a ‘Samajik Adhikarita Shivir’ and a mega distribution Camp organized by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on 29 February 2020.
Highlights:
♦ The event will be the biggest ever distribution camp being conducted under RVY and ADIP schemes.
♦ In the new mega camp, 56905 numbers of daily living Assistive Aids and Devices of different types for various categories will be distributed free of cost among Divyangjan and senior citizens, belonging to the BPL category under RVY Scheme.
♦ The total cost of the value of the aids and assistive devices amounted approximately to Rs.19,37,76,980.
♦ The event will also address the issues of the day-to-day living of the senior citizens and how to generate other avenues for their Socio-economic development.
♦ The major appliances to be distributed include Motorized Tricycle, Tricycle Conventional, Wheelchair, Walking sticks, Brail cane, Artificial Denture, Spectacles, Walker Foldable, Tripod & Tetrapod, MSIED Kit among others.
♦ Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath will be the Guest of Honour of the function. Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot; Deputy Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya; Dr. Dinesh Sharma; Secretary, DEPwD, Smt. Shakuntala D. Gamlin and other senior officers from the Ministry and Government of Uttar Pradesh will be present in the event.
